OUR FOUNDER
Donald J. Digby, MD, FACS, FAAO

Dr. Don Digby, a fellowship-trained corneal specialist, has been providing expert eye care to the Greensboro, NC community since 1984. A pioneer in laser cataract surgery, he specializes in anterior segment surgery, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and comprehensive ophthalmology.

Renowned for his expertise, Dr. Digby is a leading surgeon in ReStor Multifocal Lens implants and astigmatism correction, utilizing advanced laser technology and Toric lenses to enhance patient outcomes.

He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his ophthalmology training at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego, later serving as Chief of Ophthalmology in Guam. With fellowship training in cornea and anterior segment surgery, he is board-certified and actively involved in top ophthalmology organizations. As a respected lecturer and consultant, he has also contributed to the local medical community through leadership roles.

Dedicated to education, Dr. Digby established Digby Eye Associates as a teaching site for UNC-Moses Cone residents and has served as an adjunct faculty member at UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University’s Department of Ophthalmology.

In 1988, he founded Digby Eye Associates with a commitment to providing exceptional, compassionate care while emphasizing continuous education to remain at the forefront of medical and surgical eye care advancements.

Dr. Digby retired from patient care in March of 2024.  He still owns Digby Eye Associates and is actively in the practice management every day.

Steven J. Glenn, MD

Dr. Steven J. Glenn is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who joined Digby Eye Associates in August 2018. Originally from Utah, he earned his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology from Brigham Young University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then attended Texas A&M College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree with honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Dr. Glenn completed a transitional year internship at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in South Carolina before pursuing his Ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. As chief resident, he received advanced training in the latest surgical and medical treatments for cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, oculoplastics, retinal conditions, and neuro-ophthalmology.

A dedicated professional, Dr. Glenn is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, staying at the forefront of advancements in eye care.

Meet Dr. Parker

J. Suzanne Parker, OD, FAAO

Dr. Parker has been a valued member of Digby Eye Associates since 2008. A North Carolina native, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish from UNC-Chapel Hill. She then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she obtained both a Bachelor of Science in Optical Sciences and a Doctorate of Optometry. She completed her residency in Ocular Disease at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, gaining extensive experience in retina, glaucoma, cornea, and neuro-ophthalmology.

Dedicated to providing exceptional eye care, Dr. Parker serves a diverse patient base, including contact lens wearers, and is fluent in Spanish. She specializes in fitting advanced contact lenses for both standard and complex cases, including keratoconus, post-surgical eyes, and corneal trauma.

In 2008, she earned the distinction of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Parker is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Scleral Lens Education Society, and the Contact Lens, Cornea, and Sports Vision sections of the AOA. She previously served as President of the Triad District of the North Carolina Optometric Society before joining its Board of Trustees. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she was named North Carolina’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 2013.

Meet Dr. Dunnington

Samantha Dunnington, OD

Dr. Samantha Dunnington has been a valued member of Digby Eye Associates since 2023. A Reidsville, North Carolina native, she is a dedicated optometrist committed to providing exceptional eye care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry.

Dr. Dunnington is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society, and the American Academy of Optometry, staying engaged in the latest advancements and best practices in eye care.

Her professional expertise encompasses primary eye care, contact lens fittings, and the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases and injuries. Additionally, she has specialized training in scleral contact lens fittings for patients with post-surgical or irregular corneas, helping improve vision and comfort for those with complex eye conditions.
